I've read so many books about him, he takes up a couple shelves in my library. Its all here,and its presented in a straightforward, easy to understand manner. the conclusions Thurston draws are spot on with the actual Cayce readings, and you can tell as you read how well he researched every topic included in this book. The Word of Knowledge in Action : A Practical Guide for the Supernatural Church ReviewI have been working out my salvation with fear and trembling... and was trying to reconcile some of the issues I've had with the Holy Spirit as I've seen Him in Acts... and as He seems to be in the post-modern church. I kind of wondered where He was and what happened to Him... and it was really a stumbling stone to my walk for a long time as I went back and forth between and active and passive God at work in our lives.
This book was a true eye-opener. I think it is amazing how I'd really hoped for a book that could act as a single source in teaching and encouraging me about the Lord - but figured I would have to string that together for myself with bits and pieces of lots of books. Well - I had a hard time putting this one down and finished it in like two days and in the end it just melted away some of the preconceived notions and wrong-minded thinking I had in God.
Art takes a straightforward approach to what the Bible says - and isn't afraid to apply it to his real life and then share the reality that God is very interested in walking with us. Art has a pragmatic approach to difficult problems which make them come across clearly. I really can see God revealing the Holy Spirit anew in this season, and I think Art will be a strong voice in brings this message back to the church, and to the lost.

Secrets of the Prophetic ReviewI hardly have words to express the blessing this book has been to my life. Reading about the prophetic is not new to me but this book was one of the most refreshing and faith inspiring books I've come across in a long time. Kim combines his life story, which is most interesting and encouraging, with solid bibilical teaching on the prophetic. Yet, it is not your usual prophetic fare as it reaches beyond the norm in seeking out bibilical truths about how God operates and seeks to communicate with us. In addition, Kim's writing style is down to earth, easy to understand and digest. But, please don't misunderstand his simple writing style for simple content. This book is stuffed with page after page of profound and life affecting statements, from which you will not walk away unchanged.Secrets of the Prophetic Overview

I have witnessed an attempt to deliver a person without the necessary inner healing follow up. The results were disastrous. Many take for granted the healing power of God, omit repentance and never deal with the root of the problem. Gift of Apostle ReviewA friend had showed me this book when I was at her house. I so wanted to read it but did not feel led to ask her if I could borrow it or buy one. Within days my friend sent it to me in the mail for me to borrow!!! It is soooo good. I am going back to it again and again for little tidbits. It is good for anyone interested in seeing how the Lord will begin to move and advance in these endtimes. HE is taking us back to basics. I have no role models in my life presently as to how "church" is to be but this book speaks much wisdom and volume not just on the gift of the Apostle...but also on what the Lord is speaking to his people as to what he is wanting...how he is wanting us to get along with one another in Spirit and in Truth and be the real deal. Something that is standing out to me today...where it refers to Apostolic Networking. The Lord has shown me this sometime back...about us forming a net and being strong together not only against the enemy but for the Lord. One section of this stands out...called.."An Atmosphere of Dynamic Relationships." It says.....God organizes His kingdom through gifts of friendship. Relationships are the most essential key to networking. Anything built on rules and control is destined to fail. Some denominations have become progressively oppressive because rules and policies are relied upon to maintain the integrity of the structure instead of carefully maintaining relationships. Love and voluntary cooperation is the essence and spirit of the network. It is the difference between an organization and a living organism. The relationships must not be symbolic or mystical; they must be tangible and real to maintain the net's integrity. Frequent time together in conferences, events, and gatherings can perpetuate this essential element of a network. Apostolic leader John Kelly teaches that preserving a balanced and up-to-date network requires that the apostle maintain fellowship with apostles outside of his own stream. No true network can succeed as a closed system.
All in all...I strongly recommend this book. Chock full all the way through with Truth. It is what I was needing and I fully plan to order my own copy now and recommend it to others.

At first I sort of cringed and considered Mike Bickle to be hyper-analytical about the whole "prophecy thing." But after completing the book and coming to understand the extraordinary outpouring of the gift of prophecy at his church, I found his viewpoint and "hyper-analytical" approach to be a great gift and a crucial tool for keeping the proper focus (on the Creator) at his Kansas City church. What a blessing it is for others to have this very practical guidebook. For those who are "new" to the prophecy gift, I recommend Jack Deere's "Surprised by the Voice of God" for a more "passionate" picture. The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament and Today (Revised Edition) ReviewI believe that Reformers should read this book. It is accurate and informative. It will help destroy some of the myths surrounding the gift of prophecy and will bring you closer to God's desire. Being Reformed (CRC), I have had many questions about the gift of prophecy (gathered over many years and many book). Almost all of them have been answered here. As J.I. Packer wrote, this book is "Careful, thorough, wise, and to my mind, convincing." I agree. You will find scripturally-based answers to what the gift is, who can have it, how it is used, and how it can benefit the Church. I highly recommend it, as well as they CRC Acts of Synod 1973 (nearly 30 years old!). This book is much newer, but covers much of the same ground. The Gift of Prophecy (The Beginner's Guide to) ReviewHere is a little further perspective on this book; Jack Deere is a former cessastionist scholar who encountered God in a dramatic way and was mentored by John Wimber and Paul Cain. I've read all or part of several other books on the prophetic, but this one is special because of its Spirit:
Mike Bickle's book helps you relax and believe that prophecy is normal.
Bill Hamon gives you the ins and outs of almost every question or situation you could imagine about the operation of the gift
Steve Thompson's "You may all Prophesy" is really excellent at as a practical introduction-- covering all the bases of how God speaks, and the stopping places most people hit.
But Jack Deere's book actually made me cry at least once. There is such a revelation of humility and reverence for God that your eyes will opened to see prophecy in a whole new light. Not as a thing, but you will taste the Spirit of the Person who is Prophecy.
If you are burned out from the false prophets and failures since the Latter Rain, or if you are concerned that prophecy and prophets are just too weird and that it doesn't seem like the right Spirit, read this book. In fact, if you have any interest in speaking prophetically, please read this, and then move on to some of the other great books.The Gift of Prophecy (The Beginner's Guide to) Overview
