The Truth Which Sets Free ReviewI was given this book by a friend with a warning, it was radical to anything taught in the Christian circles. So I started reading it with much caution and skepticism. While reading the first page, I became offended regarding the authors description of the church and almost put the book down, but something kept me reading. The something must have been God, because the book opened my eyes to so many truths that I had been blinded to by the church. It brought me to the truth of the sovereignty of God, and how he brings his chosen together despite all the distractions of the church growth movement. It affirmed many of the truths taught by Arthur Pink, Charles Spurgeon, William Tyndale, and George Whitefield; those who taught at the peak of literacy and reformation. Sadly we have been in a decline since, and now almost in the dark with what is written and taught today.
I am now ordering a copy to place in my local library, perhaps God will direct another of his elect to the truth regarding the kyriakon/church, and direct them instead to a true fellowhip/ekklesia. It is amazing to me how God directed me, first by discomfort in several churches I had belonged to knowing "something" was wrong, searching for the "right church" and not finding it. Churches being filled with sport games, concerts, games and all types of activities designed to bring chrisitan goats together for worship but leaving God's chosen sheep starving for the truth.
