The Lights of Marfa: One of the World's Great Guitar Player's Amazing Encounters with God ReviewI really enjoyed reading this book. If it had another title, it would have been "Chicken Soup For Christian Guitarists"!! I like the way Doyle writes his stories in his easy going style and the special encounters he had with God in his life as well as his children. All I can say is, "It's simply amazng".There was a DVD enclosed together with this book which is probably worth more than the book and Doyle plays some of his favourite guitar music in it. There is a story behind each of the songs. There is also a new unreleased song, "The Lights of Marfa" where Doyle plays with the guitar with several great back-up musicians. An absoultely must have for all Christian guitarists. This would be a great gift for your friend or loved ones who is a guitarist. Doyle paid the price for being what he is now even if it meant walking away from being in Elvis' back up band. He chose to serve the King of Kings instead of the King of Rock and Roll. Read this wonderful account and also the story behind "White Rose for Heidi".
